Born in Manchester, Rob came to faith through Cheadle Church as an 18 year old, and after Uni, he taught Maths and PE in Hazel Grove. He trained for the ministry at Oak Hill, and served a curacy at Hartford, then as Rector of Davenham before following God’s call to return to Cheadle. He is married to Sarah, with three children and a dog!
Stan and Anna and their two sons joined us at St Mary’s in Sept 2016 from Hailsham, where he has had experience of being a vicar, rural dean, acting archdeacon and associate minister, which has been far more of an adventure than his first job working for the DHSS.
Brought up and coming to faith in Knutsford, and with a Philosophy degree from Sheffield, Ian has worked as an electric guitar teacher, a ministry trainee and a care worker with Mencap. He met and married Jodi while in Rock Ferry, and trained for the ministry at Oak Hill in London, before joining the team in Cheadle in 2019.
Associate Minister (St. Cuthberts)
The longest serving of our team, Mike has been Associate Minster at St Cuthbert’s for 19 years. He is also a chaplain to the TA.
Steve has been part of St Mary’s since his teenage years, and this is his second stint as warden. Steve is a solicitor, married to Jan with 3 grown-up children.
Sarah is originally from Sheffield, but works as a consultant at Penine Acute Hospital NHS Trust, and is married to another consultant Raj, with a young family.
Upper Room Cafe Manager
Born in Aberdeen, Susannah moved to Manchester in 1996 to study at Salford University. She came to faith as a child and has always had a desire to serve God particularly in the area of food & hospitality. She managed a community café in Levenshulme for 4 years and has led the team at The Upper Room Cafe since September 2017. Susannah is married to Matthew and lives in Longsight.
Jon has been at St Mary’s for 10 years, he is married to Ali, and ran his own plumbing business before serving the church.
James joined the team in 2020 in a new role that is combined with work in the neighbouring parish of Heald Green. He has several years of youth work experience and has recently completed a degree in it. Is is also engaged to be married to Meghan, another experienced youth worker, in 2021. James is a sports fan, particularly American Football and Rugby, and is a talented guitar player.
