Calling all knitters and crocheters… we have a project to adorn the church entrance with knitted & crocheted poppies for this coming Remembrance. If you feel you could help at all, either with the creating of the poppies or with the work that will be required to get them in place then please contact Liz in the office, 0161 428 8050 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here is a very easy pattern – if you need any wool please let me know.
Using thick red wool cast on 120 stitches
Row 1 – 4 Knit
Row 5 – Knit 3 together to end (40 stitches)
Row 6 – 9 Knit
Row 10 Knit 2 together to end (20 stitches)
Row 11- 14 Knit
Row 15 Knit 2 together (10 stitches)
Cut yarn – about 20cm – thread onto yarn needle and slip all 10 stitches on, pull up tight.
Sew open edges together, sew in ends.
Either sew in large black button or :
Use Black wool cast on 16 stitches, cast off. Coil tightly and sew in place.
