Autumn Term

A Journey Through The Old Testament Course: God’s promises, His plan unfolding, and the hope of the coming Saviour.

 

A 6 session training course exploring God’s story in the Old Testament and how it points to Jesus. 

1. Introductory Session: 
   Setting the scene: understanding the Old Testament, key themes and the story that connects it all. 
2. Genesis: 
   Creation, fall, promise and hope – the beginning of God’s story with His people. 
3. Moses’ Life: 
   From Egypt to the wilderness; God delivers, provides and gives His law. 
4. Joshua to Ruth: 
   Conquest, settlement, faithfulness and redemption. 
5. Samuel to King Solomon: 
   From a united people to a glorious kingdom under God’s wisdom. 
6. The Divided Kingdom to 400 Years of Silence: 
   Prophets, exile, return and waiting – the promised king. 

Spring Term

A Journey Through The New Testament Course: The Life, Death and Resurrection of Jesus, and the completion of God’s Rescue Plan.

A 6 session training course exploring God’s story in the New Testament and reveals Jesus. 

1. Introduction & Jesus’ Birth: 
   Setting the scene; Introducing the New Testament, key themes and the story that continues – God’s Son and the hope He brings. 
2. Jesus Ministry 1: 
   The beginning of Jesus’ ministry: calling disciples, teaching, miracles and parables that reveal God’s kingdom. 
3. Jesus Ministry 2: 
   Jesus continues His ministry: more teaching, encounters, parables and signs that challenge. 
4. Jesus’ Last days in Jerusalem: 
   His triumphal entry, teaching, arrest, trials, crucifixion and resurrection – the heart of God’s plan of salvation. 
5. Acts of the Apostles 1: 
   The outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the early church, bold witness and the spread of the good news in Jerusalem and beyond. 
6. Acts of the Apostles 2: 
   The Gospel goes further: new challenges, new people, and the good news reaches the ends of the earth.
