Rev George Crowder

Rector

George is married to Kath, and they have four children. After a curacy in Hartford, he spent 13 years as vicar of St John, Over, which latterly included a part-time role as a regional director of Church Society. George is passionate about encouraging people of all ages and backgrounds to know God and grow in their faith in Jesus. In his free time, he enjoys being active and outdoors.

Rev Stan Tomalin

Associate Minister

Stan and Anna and their two sons joined us at St Mary’s in Sept 2016 from Hailsham, where he has had experience of being a vicar, rural dean, acting archdeacon and associate minister, which has been far more of an adventure than his first job working for the DHSS.

Rev Ian Chidlow

Associate Minister at St Cuthberts

Born at Stepping Hill, Ian grew up in Stockport, then Knutsford, via four years in France! He heard the gospel at 8 years old and believed it at 16. At 26, Ian went to study at Oak Hill following a call to ordained ministry. He’s married to Jodi; they have three children, one capricious cat and an overzealous dog.

Mark Tomlinson

Children's Outreach Worker

Mark is married to Helen, and been at St. Mary’s since September 1989. They have 6 grown-up children between them, 8 grandchildren and a cocker Spaniel called Monty. He is passionate about teaching the Bible, working with and sharing the Bible with children, and training, advising and supporting those who work with children and young people. He has been in children and youth ministry for more than 45 years.

Amy Killingbeck

Youth Worker

Amy was born and grew up in Stockport, she started attending St Mary's in 2017 after coming along to an outreach event and eventually gave her life to Christ in 2019. Since then, she has trained in multiple places including The Oakes Holiday Centre in Sheffield. She is married to Marcus and they love serving and sharing Jesus with our young people.

Church Warden St Mary's

Rob joined the Church family at St Mary's in 2007 when he got married in the Church building to Mel, they have three kids who keep him busy. Rob has been St Mary's warden since 2022, when not involved in Church family or home family life he heads up the marketing department for a MedTech company

Jon Drayton

Operations Manager

Jon has been at St Mary’s for 10 years, he is married to Ali, and ran his own plumbing business before serving the church. He is the 'go to' guy if you have any question about who to speak to or how things operate.  He doesn't know all the answers, but he usually knows the people who do!

Maddy has been attending St Mary's almost all her life and joined the office team in August 2023 after finishing university. She loves serving the church behind the scenes and working in the cafe too. In her spare time she enjoys dancing and crocheting

Jo Davids

Finance Officer

Jo joined the office team in 2015  and is currently Finance and GDPR Officer and Parish Treasurer. She has three children and the family worship at St Cuthbert’s where Jo came to faith as a child. Jo is passionate about using God’s gifts to bless others, and is committed to supporting Eco Church. When not in work she enjoys travel, going to the theatre and concerts and anything creative.

Beci is married to Grant and they have 3 children. She loves to bake and be creative. Beci enjoys finding ways to share Jesus with those in our community who come to the Upper Room, as well as offering hospitality and serving our church family. When she's not in the café she loves playing with their puppy Milo and drinking coffee with friends!

Wendy Morris

Caretaker/Cleaning

Wendy is married to David, does not have any children but is a proud cat mum!

After turning her local village Heald Green into Heald Blue in 2024 for Prostate cancer and raising nearly 7.5k Wendy has now become an Ambassador for Prostate Cancer Support in Stockport. Wendy also raised £1000 by making pink glitter champagne flutes for Prevent Breast Cancer and has just recently become an Ambassador for Prevent Breast Cancer based at The Nightingale Ctr, Wythenshawe Hospital.

As you can imagine she is very busy organizing events for both charities but also enjoys walking and socialising with friends and family.
